"Vic" injured himself one cold winter night on a piece of metal on the side of the barn. His owner called immediately and hauled him into the office. We got him into the warm and closed his wound. He would have certainly gone into shock if his owner had not acted so swiftly. This is the perfect example of swift action by the owner, good veterinary care and great follow up at home by the client/owner. Dr. Campbell and I (Dr. Rexroat) closed this wound (all the layers) in 2 hours. Vic has made a complete and uncomplicated recovery as you can see in the third photo. His scar will continue to disappear and the hair is still trimmed close to facilitate close monitoring of a couple of the areas that had lacerations to the bone.
